Classic Tailored Shorts

Made-to-your-measurements in our Los Angeles workshop. The pattern begins when you order, these shorts do not exist until they are made for you.

A short built to the standard of a bespoke trouser. The fabric is a brown Super 120 worsted wool, which is a fine, resilient weave that holds its form through movement and temperature, drapes with the weight of proper tailoring, and improves with careful wear over the years.

The construction follows bespoke tailoring principles throughout. Slant side pockets for a clean hip line. Two rear pockets finished in double piping with horn button and button flap (among the most labor-intensive pocket finishes in tailoring, requiring precise cutting, pressing, and hand finishing on each welt). The waistband is stiffened with horsehair canvas, the traditional internal architecture that gives a waistband its structure without the rigidity of fusing. Sewn belt loops. A tailored lined fly.

Inside, the shorts are finished to the standard of the exterior. A cupro waist liner sits against the body  and is breathable, smooth, and cool against skin in the way that acetate or polyester linings are not. A cupro waist curtain is hand stitched to protect the shirt and waistband. This is a detail found in bespoke tailoring, invisible in wear and felt across years of use. Cupro pocketing throughout. Every hem, the fly, the pocket piping, and the waist curtain are hand stitched.

The pattern is hand drawn to your body measurements, specifically graded for the proportions of an endurance athlete with longer rise, fuller through the thigh, precise through the seat to allows the shorts to move with the body.

Care: Dry clean or hand wash cold. Do not agitate or wring. Towel press, hang to dry.
